• Terms Robinhood

Robinhood Class Action Service: auto-enrollment on Nov 18, 2026 and a 20% fee (how to opt out)

Robinhood's Customer Agreement (revised October 1, 2026) adds Section 36A, a "Class Action Service" whose terms take effect "on or after November 18, 2026." It reads: "Your Account is automatically enrolled in Robinhood's Class Action Service (the "Class Action Service"), unless you unenroll as described in this Section 36A." Robinhood and a third-party vendor will automatically file claims for you in securities class-action settlements involving stocks held in your account, and the RHF Fee Schedule sets the Class Action Service Fee at "20% of the class action settlement proceeds received on your behalf." Enrollment lets Robinhood appoint the vendor "as your agent and attorney-in-fact," binds you to the settlement's releases, and means "you cannot separately bring a lawsuit, at any time, against any named defendant" in a case where a claim was filed for you. You also can't submit your own claim form for that settlement. Robinhood says it will notify you before each filing. You get seven business days to exclude that case, and you can unenroll from the service at any time through the app or Robinhood Customer Service. The September 1, 2026 version of the agreement had no such section. Settlement administrators don't usually charge anything to file your own claim form, so staying enrolled by default costs you a fifth of any payout. Other brokers run similar auto-enrolled services, but the cut varies: E*TRADE from Morgan Stanley's vendor deducts 6% of payments (etrade.com class action terms), Edward Jones' administrator Broadridge deducts 15% (Edward Jones service disclosure), and Interactive Brokers charges a 20% contingency fee (IBKR Securities Class Action Recovery page), so Robinhood's 20% sits at the top of that range. • Terms DoorDash

DoorDash terms update (Oct 16, 2026): arbitration now covers Stripe, Persona and other vendors; JAMS; robot deliveries

DoorDash's Consumer Terms and Conditions now read "Effective: October 16, 2026," replacing the August 13, 2026 version. The new text went live on Oct 16, after our early-morning check that day. A new "Related Third Parties" clause extends the arbitration agreement to disputes with DoorDash's "affiliates, subsidiaries, successors, related entities, agents, employees, contractors, subcontractors, insurers, licensees, assignees, vendors, and suppliers," and names "Amplitude, Persona, Checkr, Blue Star, Stripe, Payfare." All U.S. arbitrations move to JAMS. The old terms used ADR Services for California residents and National Arbitration and Mediation (NAM) for everyone else. The arbitration agreement now survives "until the expiration of all applicable statutes of limitations." Opting out of arbitration is still limited to new accounts, which must email opt-out@doordash.com within 30 days. Each opt-out notice must now come from you personally, not an agent, and can't cover more than one user. "Contractors" are renamed "Delivery Providers," a term that now covers "technology, including autonomous vehicles." A new "Autonomous Deliveries" section says DoorDash "may, in its sole discretion, utilize autonomous vehicles or other technology to facilitate deliveries." Some changes favor customers. U.S. orders are now governed by the law of the state where you live instead of Delaware law. The damages limits no longer cover death or bodily injury caused by DoorDash's own negligence, gross negligence or willful misconduct, sexual assault or harassment claims, or refunds of what you paid. The terms also add "Pay with Rewards" (paying with credit-card points) and rewrite the marketing-text section.

• Terms Proton

Proton terms update (Oct 9, 2026): Proton can discontinue services or features with or without notice

Proton's Terms of Service now say "Last modified: October 09, 2026," replacing the June 23, 2026 version, and Section 4 ("Limited warranties and liability") opens differently. The old opening said Proton "does not make any warranty about the reliability of the Services or the security of user data, despite best efforts," and that the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." That paragraph is gone. In its place: "The Company reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify, suspend, or discontinue any of our Services, or any feature or component thereof, with or without notice to you." Proton says it "will endeavor to provide reasonable advance notice of a material discontinuation" where practicable, but "has no obligation to provide such notice, and is not liable to you or any third party" for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation, to the extent the law allows. The terms cover Proton Mail, Calendar, Drive, VPN, Pass, Meet, and Docs. Nothing else in the document changed, including the liability cap of $100 or the amount you paid.

• Terms Bank of America

Bank of America's new online banking agreement limits disputes on linked external accounts (Oct 19, 2026)

Bank of America's new Online Banking Service Agreement takes effect October 19, 2026, replacing the August 27, 2026 version. The prior text gave customers 90 days to report errors or unauthorized activity "if the problem or error relates to a transfer from an account maintained at another financial institution." The new text keeps that 90-day window only for Bill Pay payments funded from an outside account to an outside, third-party payee. It adds: "Except for transfers initiated through the Bill Pay Service that are funded from an account maintained at another financial institution ('External Account')… Bank of America is not responsible for investigating or resolving errors or other disputes for electronic transactions that appear on your External Account statement." A related line says the unauthorized-transaction protections in Section 8.B "apply only to accounts maintained with Bank of America," with the same Bill Pay exception. Paying a BofA card or loan from a linked Chase or credit-union account now means taking most disputes to that other bank.

• Terms U.S. DOT

DOT delays airline "controllable delay" change to Feb 1, 2027: maintenance, medical, unruly-passenger delays

A Federal Register notice published October 15, 2026 (FR Doc 2026-21058) delays the effective date of DOT's September 3, 2026 final rule on airline delay and cancellation categories under Section 511(b) of the FAA Reauthorization Act. The rule, which creates a new category for ten events that will no longer count as "Air Carrier" (controllable) delays or cancellations—including certain unscheduled maintenance, removing an unruly passenger, medical emergencies, cyberattacks, and government system failures—now takes effect February 1, 2027 instead of October 19, 2026. The new categories apply to flights on or after January 1, 2027, so holiday-season flights stay under the old categories. DOT's earlier analysis said the change is expected to reduce the number of delays and cancellations for which carriers provide amenities and compensation under voluntary commitments.

• Terms Cash App

Cash App’s terms now describe an optional feature that, when enabled, automatically sells Virtual Currency from your Hosted Balance at the then-effective Conversion Rate to cover eligible ACH debit payments from your Cash App Balance. You may not get a separate notice before each sale; bitcoin price can move between the debit request and the sale; and you can turn the feature off, though pending sales may still complete.
