Rocket Money bill negotiation moves to Premium+ ($15/month) on Nov 2, 2026; 35-60% success fee option ends
Rocket Money's Terms of Service now read "Effective 10/02/2026," replacing the June 29, 2026 version. The Bill Negotiation section adds: "As of November 2, 2026, Bill Negotiation is exclusively a Premium+ feature. Negotiations already in progress or on a payment plan will continue. Auto-renegotiations will sunset on November 2, 2026." Until now, members on other plans, including the free tier, could have Rocket Money negotiate a bill and pay only if it worked: a success fee "decided by the user, anywhere between 35-60% of the 12-month savings achieved." The terms' own example: at a 40% fee, a $10-a-month reduction costs $48. That pay-per-success option ends for negotiations started after November 2. Rocket Money's help center says Premium+ is "$15/month plus tax," that "there's no paid, a la carte option," and that Premium+ members can have one negotiation in progress at a time. Members who don't upgrade keep the rest of their plan but "won't be able to submit new Bill Negotiations after November 2." Automatic renegotiations, the ones Rocket Money scheduled through its TrueProtect feature, end November 1 according to the help center: "the one you had scheduled through TrueProtect won't happen," so you have to ask for each new negotiation yourself. At $15 a month, Premium+ costs $180 a year before tax, whether or not any bill gets lowered. The same terms update adds a "Conversation memory" clause for Rowan, Rocket Money's AI assistant, which "may retain summarized information from your conversations, such as your goals, preferences, and communication style," and a new section on reading Gmail content if you connect a Google account.
Who it affects
Rocket Money members on the free or Premium plans who use bill negotiation, and anyone with an automatic renegotiation scheduled for November or later
