What changed recently: Grindr's new terms: AI can summarize your chats for other users even if you don't use AI, and opting out won't lower your bill

When did Grindr's new terms take effect?
The terms say "Effective Date: The earlier of October 27, 2026 or user acceptance." Grindr's help-center notice says that if you don't agree, "you should stop using Grindr and close your account before they take effect."

Can Grindr's AI use my chats?
Yes. Section 7.5(b) says Grindr's systems may generate "inferences, summaries, and other System-Generated Content about you" from your profile, your activity and "your interactions with other users including chats," and "may share such content with users who use those features," whether or not you use them yourself.

Can I turn off Grindr's AI use of my data?
The terms say you can manage how your data is used for AI "in your privacy settings in the Services, or via a request to our Customer Service team." Features that depend on those settings may stop working, and "going forward we will stop using your data for the purposes that setting covers."

Will I get a refund if a paid Grindr feature stops working after I turn off AI?
Not under the terms. Section 9.13 says "Your Subscription and its billing are not affected by your settings choices" and "no refund is due except where the law requires it."

How do I opt out of Grindr's arbitration changes?
Email your legal name, mailing address, the email address(es) on your account and a copy of your signature to arbitrationoptout@grindr.com. Existing users must do this within 31 days after Grindr notifies them of a material amendment. Opting out of an amendment doesn't cancel an earlier arbitration agreement.
