FCC: From Nov 25, companies can choose the only way you're allowed to stop their robocalls and texts
From Nov 25, a company can name the only way you're allowed to stop its robocalls and texts, and replying STOP to one kind of alert may not stop the others.
Who it affects: Anyone in the U.S. who gets automated calls or texts that need consent: payment and appointment reminders, delivery and account alerts, bank fraud alerts and marketing texts. That's nearly everyone with a cell phone. It applies to autodialed and prerecorded calls and automated texts, not to ordinary calls from a person.
