When your data starts paying for someone else's ads.
Ad targeting rarely changes with an announcement. It changes with a new sentence in a privacy policy: an exception to an old promise, a new data partner, ads that follow you to another device.
This thread collects those sentences, and the deals some companies now offer in exchange for your data.
From Nov 12, 25 or more similar claims against Pinterest go to one arbitrator, and its ads can follow you to your TV. You get a 30-day window to opt out of arbitration.
Verizon will pay up to $5 a month in Verizon Dollars if you let the Glance lock-screen app track you for ads and keep your Do Not Sell settings off.
Google's promise not to use Gmail, Drive and Photos content for ads now has an exception: if you let Search or Gemini read that data, it can shape your ads.
