Social Security updates its SSN master file, adding Treasury "Do Not Pay" data sharing

1 change · checked November 3, 2026

What changed

Social Security's Nov 3 Federal Register notice modifies its Master Files of SSN Holders and SSN Applications (60-0058): a new routine use lets SSA share records with Treasury's Do Not Pay system from Dec 3, and the file now also draws on Federal contractors, vendors and other SSA systems. Comments close Dec 3.

The other diffs were noise: Slack dropped the "New" tag from Slackbot, Todoist added a Table layout row and renamed "Start for free" to "Create a free account" (plus a comment-marker cleanup in its privacy policy), 1Password replaced [PSA URL]/[LINK] placeholders in its business terms with real links, Robinhood's customer agreement only reshuffled who delivers statements (a Robinhood Financial/Securities wording tidy) and added short-stock collateral to the High-Yield Cash Program interest line, Verizon's regulatory-charge note changed from "will increase" to "increased" for the already-covered $0.21 to $0.26 rise, Audible and Mailchimp served rotating pricing-page variants, Toyota relabeled chart headings, Cloudflare and Tubi had whitespace and device-ID noise. PlayStation (SSL error) and Roblox (HTTP 403) still fail to fetch.
